Statewide and Federal Disaster Assistance

Indiana State Disaster Relief Fund: Residents whose primary residence was affected may qualify for up to $5,000 for eligible uninsured losses, including certain repairs, essential furnishings and appliances, debris removal, medical devices, tools, and transportation. Eligibility requirements and the application are available through the Indiana August 2026 Disaster Resource Hub.
Temporary Housing Assistance: Qualifying displaced residents may be eligible for assistance transitioning from emergency shelters into hotels, apartments, or other temporary accommodations. This program is separate from the State Disaster Relief Fund. Call 211 or 866-211-9966 for information.

FEMA Disaster Assistance: Call 800-621-3362 or visit DisasterAssistance.gov for federal disaster information. The current federal emergency declaration does not necessarily mean FEMA Individual Assistance has been approved for every household. Residents should confirm that the August 2026 Indiana disaster is accepting individual applications.
Emergency SNAP Replacement: SNAP recipients who lost food because of flooding or storm-related power outages may request replacement benefits. The required affidavit generally must be submitted within 10 days of the loss through the FSSA Benefits Portal.

SERVE Village: Coordinating the volunteer roster and matching volunteers with recovery assignments. Volunteers should register through SERVE Village rather than reporting directly to affected neighborhoods.
Donation Update: SERVE Village paused physical flood-related donations at the fairgrounds after reaching capacity. Monetary donations to the Hamilton County Flood Relief Fund may still be accepted. Please confirm current needs before delivering supplies.
Hamilton County Harvest Food Bank and Township Offices: Cleaning supplies are being collected through participating township offices. Residents should verify the nearest active location before traveling.
Fishers Flood Assistance: Call the 24-hour nonemergency assistance line at 317-595-3211 or submit an online request through the City of Fishers Flood Resource Page.

Hancock County
Hancock County is not currently included in the state’s August 11 Indiana 211 residential damage-reporting list. Residents should contact Hancock County Homeland Security for local damage-reporting instructions and emergency information.
