MasterCard Automatic Billing Updater (ABU) is a service that will provide card number and expiration date updates to merchants who maintain card-on-file (COF) account information to process recurring member payments. COF merchants (i.e. Netflix, Hulu, online retail merchants...) keep a member’s card number on file for recurring payments. ABU provides a way for card issuers (Independent Federal Credit Union Debit Card) to communicate the most recent cardholder account information to MasterCard. The benefit is cardholders will no longer have to provide updated card information to participating COF merchants when their card is reissued due to normal expiration or lost/stolen card. All IFCU debit cardholders will be defaulted as opt-in or using the service, however; you can opt-out if you so desire.
